Determine if it trans fluid(red) or engine oil. If the trans pan gasket is leaking, drain it (By slowly remove the pan) and replace it. Don't use the rubber gasket. Use cork or silicone. If oil, coming between the engine and trans. This would be a rear main seal on the engine. Trans has to be pulled to replace it.
didnt specify vehicle --generic answer --start with older vehicles leaking from top check valve cover --towards bottom rear oil seal -oil filter ,housing-- bottom oil pan //newer only difference would be oil pressure sensor and oil cooler lines
Oil pickup tube is likely bent as well, replaced that with the pan?
The click is either because the starter was hit as well or the bent tube is blocking engine rotation. That's on the optimistic side, there could be other damage to the engine or transmission causing this if the starter, battery and power connections check out.
It takes about 4 quarts, add 3 then run the truck until the transmission fluid id hot to the touch then top off the transmission, DO NOT OVER FILL the Transmission!
I believe the sensor in the pan is for the low oil level sensor. The oil pressure sensor is at the back of the engine, by the intake manifold, towards the passenger side.
you will have to remove the starter flywheel inspectin cover and move the trans. cooling lines out of the way , undo the motormounts and raise the engine to allow clearance, remove the bolts for the oil pan and if necessare you may have to remove the pickup tube and oil pump to get the pan out
you have to drop the oil pan to get to it...once the oil pan is off there are 2 bolts that holdthe pump in place,,,you will also need a new screen for the new pump.
