I have a 2001 hyundai accent and it just stopped working. I was driving down the road and it just totally died. I have power/ lights and accessorys work but it wont start. It does not sound like the starter or alternator. It has had no prior problems it just completly lost all power while driving.

Remove one of your spark plugs and have some one turn it over you stick your finger into the spark plug hole if compression pushes it out then its not your timing belt if it doesn't push it out than replace your timing belt

2001 hyundai accent overdrive button

The overdrive will only come into use when the transmission module reads the correct revs/ road speed ratio. Switch if off for heavy city traffic driving to improve economy when it moves up and down all the time. No it will not harm the transmission otherwise.

When ever I am driving down the road and I accelerate, my check engine light starts flashing. Why?I have a 2001 hyundai accent, 1.5L engine 5 speed. It flashes for about 10 seconds and then stops.

it means you are doing irrepairable damage to the catalytic converter, you should take your car and have the trouble codes retrieved, sounds like you need an Oxygen sensor

I have a 2001 Hyundai Accent 1.6L. While driving it wil die, there is no spark but all the fuel pressure is fine. After it cools down it starts and drives for about 5-10 miles then dies again.

This sounds to me like an intermittent crankshaft sensor problem. Did your CHECK ENGINE light come on? Crankshaft sensors sometimes flicker this way before they completely die, sometimes they don't. I think you may have a flickerer. Have the code checked at your local Advanced Auto or Auto Zone. The part is only about $30.00. GOOD LUCK.

hello, if you car stalls instanly maybe your ignition system has a loose connection or even has a short somewhere. but if it coughing but still trying to idle normally maybe your carb dirty. one thing, some carbs has a solenoid air switch attached on one of its side. if this solenoid is shorted damaged you'll have the same effect. hope this helps.
