Nissan Sentra 2000 My car would stop and I would have to turn it back on, then I went to tuffy's so they can see what the problem was they couldn't fix it, I ha to drive back home and it would pass 20mph it kept stalling, I was told by tuffy to go to the nissan dealer however they are going to charge me 92 just to hook it up to the machine and then 1600 if it's something with my computer, I am a struggling college student are there any other options!!!!????

tork converter is locking out see if you can unplug it as a quick fix it will be a round plug on the training should fix the problem but remember its only temporary as to you will lose overdrive and kill gas mileage by 5-6 miles a gallon but it wont damage anything

I had this kind of problem on my car a couple of times. It can either be the idle control valve or overheating. you can clean the idle control valve or replace it. the one for my car was like $140 at the dealership.

Have a diagnostic scan run with freeze frame and capture mode. This way when your RPM reaches the point the problem occurs it will be 'captured; and saved on the scanner. From that information the proper repair procedures can be determined...otherwise it's just a guessing game.
