The fuel filter in the Oldsmobile Intrigue is located under the car in front of the fuel tank. The purpose of the fuel filter is to pull out any debris and sediment that may have been sucked up by the fuel pump in the tank. Harmful sediment and debris can be hazardous to the engine. Replacement of the filter should be done every 30,000 miles.
yes please replace the fuel filter, the fuel filter replace every 40,000 kilometers according to the factory specifacation.then buy a repair kit of the carburator to clean and replace gasket to prevent leaking of gasoline
If you have fuel pressure and spark, then the truck should start. I would double check ignition. There is a coil, and most importantly an ICM (ignition control module). Its in the distributor. Remove the cap and rotor and you will see it. Its 2 inches long and 1 wide. There are 2 screws securing it, and 3 connectors attached to it. Remove the modual and have it tested a your local auto parts store. Check the fuses. Also turn the key to the on position and listed for the fuel pump. Crank the engine and check and look at the injectors to verify fuel entering the intake. good luck.
Has the original fuel gone stale ?Check that the fuel is ok If you can disconnect fuel line at engine end and put hose into tin to see if pump is operating properly when ignition is on or cranking, having help is essential as monitoring the fuel going into the container and doing the ignition at the same time can be awkward. Also make sure the fuel filter is clear if no fuel comes out during previous test
check engine light comes on after driving any given amount of time. Replaced egnition modual didn't work, replaced pcv valve, didn't work, replaced stater module, didn't work, replaced the fuel filter, didn't work. Took it in for diagnostics and was told that it is either the egnition module, computer, or the wires that are attached to the computer that go out to different parts in the engine.
