Re: My radio wont play Cd's. Everytime I put in a cd,
Your CD player's lens is not working, meaning either if you can open it and change the lens or install a new stereo, see which solution is cheaper.( you can find stereos for around $35) . Good Luck

You can try putting a CD lens cleaner in the drive but in most cases you will have to replace the Radio. These are not Economically repairable. It would cost more to repair it than a new system will cost.
The err is short for error. If the cd player accepts a cd and can't read it can cause err to display. The cd also can be scratched or the lens may be dirty or damaged. If you buy a cleaner cd and it doesn't work then its time to replace the radio preferrably an aftermarket because the factory type can cost up to $500 or more.
My CD Player did the same. It showed an "ERR" message when trying to detect the beginning of a CD. I thought that the CD was dirty and wiped it down. Then I discovered that the player would detect the CD when the car was idle, but not when the car was in motion. Maybe the laser is THAT sensitive. Hope this works for you.
the cd player only is the problem even though it is all in one unit the radio will still play. tr a different disk if no luck then unfortunatley the problem is in the radio itself. you can buy a nice after market radio for alot less money. keep me posted thanks
This is not a fuse problem, it may be a dirty laser lens or a broken loading mechanism, buy a CD player cleaner disk, if that won't work you will have to pull the unit out and send it in for repair at an authorized GM electronics repair station.
Oh, i had this problem several times... look, the best answer that i can give you is to buy a new one, there's sony's cd-players that are great, me and my father have. now, if you want to stay with this cd player just insert the cd several times until it will play. but again, you better buy a different one.
