Truck stalled at red light and will not start.

It was running fine and I went to go from a red light and it just quit. I tried to start it again as I was rolling over to the curb but nothing happened. It will turn over and over but will not start. It sat for almost an hour and still would not start up. What could be causing this? Can it be a fuel pump, filter, or no spark?

The ingition moduel will go out without warning like you are describing. To test, take off air duct over throttle body, have someone crack truck over. If fluid sprays from injectors into throttle body it's almost a guarrented sign it's the moduel. it's located in the distributor, almost impossible to mess up while replacing. A $30 part from your local part store.

I would check the vacuum lines thoroughly as one may have collasped or previous owner replaced with a substandard one, which may be partially collaspe then upon warming up will vacuum itself shut causing the motor to surge then fail to run or start if it happens to be a main line that is affected.

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter. The fuel filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or once a year to ensure the fuel system is running 100%. Auto Zone will have the fuel filter and can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done with common tools. If it's the fuel pump failure, you have not gotten the car restarted. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know you got your car running 100% again soon and please rate.

Was running fine then stalled suddenly. when it started back run rough at an idle black smoke from exhaust then press the gas pedal and it quit now it will not start at all

I just had a similar situation. The truck would run fine and then the Service Engine Soon light would start blinking and the truck would go into "limp" mode. It would eventually stall. Strangley though, if I turned the key over and then restarted it, it would start right up and run again. It ended up being the IPDM (Intelligent Power Distribution Module) that was bad. It cost me $520 to replace it.

okay try this....talk to your parts store and get a battery load tester, and find out if the battery is indeed dead. My guess is it sounds like the Altenator is dying. they are around 50-100 and can be install by a pro in minutes.

That engine uses high pressure oil to open the injectors. Of course make sure your oil level is up then try turning it over while tapping on the IPC solenoid to see if you have a high pressure oil issue.
