Cannot keyless entry remote to work. Does not

Cannot keyless entry remote to work on 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Does not unlock doors or turn alarm off. Had my jeep worked on at a repair shop for another issue and they turned the alarm off somehow and it has not worked since then.

Also, heated seats are not working. What could be wrong.

Also, how do we change the right directional light?

The heating element (a wire) in the seats breaks over time. That is why the driver's side usually goes out first. Chrysler made a repair kit at one time, but they have all sold off the shelves by now. Watching discussion boards about this problem, the least expensive and most practical fix is to replace it with an after-market (generic) heated seat kit - which are actually much better actually. Most folks just leave it be and go without - depends on their climate I suppose.

oh, by the way, i assume you do not have the 1998 Jeep Cherokee Owner's Manual ... if you happen to require the fuse/relay locations (both interior and under hood) and explanations let me know since i just scanned those pages of the manual recently and created PDF for upload.

about "Also, heated seats are not working. What could be wrong." -- I have similar problem and was told to check the relay (but in my case only driver's side not working, passenger side OK). i still have yet to resolve that issue but will let you know when and if i do...

be blessed that the alarm is now disengaged ... many people including myself wish to know exactly how to do that...

Keyless entry wont unlock

TThere is probably a problem with the door unlock relay or the passenger door module. The passenger door modules on Jeep Cherokee have had a lot of problems and there are a couple of Technical Service bulletins published by the manufacturer as a result of these failures.

My keyless remote for my 2000 jeep grand cherokee wont unlock the

go to autozone and use the remote tester on the counter to make sure that the remote itself is functioning or not, could be a dead battery. On some vehicles it is possible to reset the keyless entry by turning the ignition switch from off to run (right before the starter activates) 3 times or so, if you try this and the door locks activate then press the lock button on your remotes. good luck

Programm keyless entry

TRY THIS:
Sit inside the vehicle with all the doors closed.
Place ignition in the OFF position.
Open the driver's door. Leave Open.
Move the mechanical door lever to the LOCK position.
Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
Aim the transmitter at the Keyless Entry receiver and press Lock button.
Hold for five seconds until the door locks cycle.
Turn ignition OFF within 20 seconds
