Where is the oil pump located on a 2002 GMC Envoy?

Inside the oil pan. It is driven from the cam gear.

I am a woman learning to fix my 2002 GMC Envoy and it is knocking and the oil disappeared. I had an oil change about 2 months ago.

Could need an engine rebuild you cannot drive without oil and not do damage to the bearings.

I have 2002 gmc envoy, oil pressure low, stop engine warning only comes on when i stop on a hill?

The pressure regulator in the oil pump may not be working, the idle speed may be too low and there may be a lot of wear on internal engine parts lowering oil pressure

Can I change my oil filter on my 2002 gmc envoy without changing the oil? An idiot parts guy at a gmc dealership gave me the wrong oil filter. To top that ag Firestone the mechanic took off the correct...

You can change just the filter, you need to put a oil drain pan under the filter to catch what flows out and be as fast as possible, remove the incorrect one and fit the new one, you will need to top up the oil a little but won't need to do a complete change.

Get this message on my 2002 GMC envoy "low oil pressure stop engine" turn truck off and restart and everything is fine. this started after my oil change.

try to reset the computer by cycleing the key on an off 3 times, if this light continues to come on check the oil level could have simply not added enough oil

I guess you have a 4.2L in-line 6 cylinder, oil switch screw into bock by oil filter.

What is the best type of motor oil for 2004 GMC

this engine calls for any major brand 5W20W (I prefer Valvoline), in very hot climates u can use 10W30W, but no heavier.

Where is the oil filter on an 02 gmc envoy

under vehicle, passenger side, way up pass the frame, closer to front of truck, hard to get out.
If not there, look for a panel near bumper with 2 bolts, filter behind that.

Where is oil drain plug

Crawl under car from front and look underneath the filter and to the right a little it is a small 14 mm plug i believe.

The overwhelming response on GM Envoy forums is Mobil 1 Synthetic motor oil.

The recommend includes using Mobil 1 0W-40 all year. It will give you outstanding protection at low ambient temperatures as well as at high operating temperatures.

Envoy enthusiasts also recommend K&N or Mobil 1 Extended Performan oil filters.
