No it does not. Then they gave you the wrong one. Go back to them and get it straightened out.

99 chrysler lhs air compressor won't work

unplug the low pressure switch in the air conditioner line near the dryer with air switched on , jump the connector with a short piece of wire to see if the compressor clutch engages. If it does your pressure switch is bad. If the pressure switch is good then there is a fuse near the compressor somewhere that may be blown. If it blows new fuse your clutch is bad.

My 2005 Chrysler Town & Country 3.8 Liter AC is not blowing cold air. I would like to try recharging with one of the R-134 kits. Is the low pressure port that I would need to attach the R-134 canister...

the hose fitting that you attach to the low side port will only fit that port-it cannot fit the high side (that port is too big) so you cannot do this wrong. The low (suction) side is between the compressor and the evaporator (passenger compartment, usually in the heater core plenium.)

The air conditioning in my 2005 T&C stopped working. Right before it stopped there was a "burnt" smell coming through the vents. What happened?

No air coming from air conditioning vents
  1. Check the air conditioner fuse and replace as necessary.
  2. Air conditioner system discharged. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by an MVAC certified technician, utilizing approved recovery/recycling equipment. Repair as necessary.
  3. Air conditioner low pressure switch defective. Replace switch.
  4. Air conditioner fan resistor pack defective. Replace resistor pack.
  5. Loose connection, broken wiring or defective air conditioner relay in air conditioning electrical circuit. Repair wiring or replace relay as necessary. Air conditioner has a smell when used
    1. The air conditioner evaporator drain hose is blocked or partially restricted, allowing condensation to build up around the evaporator and drainage tray. Clear the drain hose where it exits the passenger compartment.
    2. Check compressor clutch wiring, electrical connections and compressor clutch, and repair or replace as necessary.

Where is the low pressure side of the air conditioner on the engine compressor

The Low Pressure Side port for AC is near the Throttle Linkage Connector centered in front of the engine. It has a black cap and says LOW.
Connect the refill hose to the connector on the Low Pressure Side of the air conditioning system. The Low Pressure Side connector will be smaller than the High Pressure Side connector so the refill hose will fit properly only on the Low Pressure Side.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

I want to take off compressor and by-pass with a pulley

Hello newf_girl...Yes you can do this on the 3.0 litre taurus. Several aftermarket bypass pulleys are available. Some require the removal of the compressor, others let you unbolt and move it to the side. The pulley bolts in place of the Air Conditioning Compressor, allowing you to use the factory size serpentine belt. They sell for about 40 dollars at 1A Auto online. Here is one that will fit your taurus....
Part Number: 1AEPM00006
Good luck...i hope this helps, please rate me a fixya.

Air Conditioniong not working

U may be low in Freon gas.
When Freon is low there's low pressure switch that will prevent A/C compressor clutch from engaging to protect it from failure.
So, first check Freon pressure & any leaks form lines & hoses fittings.
Even if the fan is working, that doesn’t indicate proper compressor OP'S.
Look at the compressor front side you'll see the clutch stationary while the AFT pulley moving.

Then put air-condition compressor switch to ON (Engage),
You should see the clutch engage & start rotate,
If NOT, this is very clear indication u r low in Freon.

MAR
