Need to put a push button switch on car due to switch not working help

you need a switch to turn off main power too

1) Make sure ignition is off
2) push & hold in left button (daytrip reset)
3) while holding in, turn ignition key into pos.1
4) keep holding button pushed in while "Test 1" appears in display
5) after a further approx. 5 seconds oil service inspection will appear (whichever is due)
6) release button when oil service/inspection are displayed
7) pushing and holding in the button for appr. 5 secs will reset the service interval
8) release button and switch off ignition. When restarting interval should be reset
hope this works.

It sounds like the wiring to the key was rerouted to the button. Does it come with the push button as standard, or was it installed @ a later date?

If you are not getting fuel at all I think they may be talking about the fuel cut off switch. Below I posted a picture of its location for you and where you see the blue arrow, just push down on that button to reset it. Not sure as to why it would have popped and you may have other problems if it continues to pop. Ford put that in their vehicle incase of an accident to cut off the fuel supply to limit a fire due to gas. I hope this is the "switch" you are talking about and I hope it helps you.....Good luck.

Is your foot on the brake when you push the button? Try that. Also try putting it in neutral when you try to engage 4x4.

The problem is that you probably have pushe dhte rear window button thinking it wasthe front window button. Have you ever pushed the rear window button thinking it was the front and then push harder. Inside the switch ther are little plastic pins. Open the switch and turn the little pns around and you should e fine. you cna e-mail me if you like and I can tell youhow to fix [email protected]

Probably the switch in the steering wheel, or fuse, but usually horn fuse works other things too such as cig lighter or radio. If everything else is working fine, then to troubleshoot you'll need a testlight. I would start with the wiring harness where the steering collumn plugs in and decipher which wire is the horn wire. Put the test light clip on +power, then check the wires on the collumn side one by one, pushing the horn button on each one. The horn switch is the wire that makes the light blink when you push the button. If you try all the wires and none make the light blink, then its probably a problem with the horn switch in the s. wheel. Does it have an after market steering wheel? Because aftermarket wheels often have crappy horn switches in them. Also could be a horn relay if it has one. If you listen carfully while pushing the horn, you should hear the relay faint clicking. If you hear this, then the switch is working, but the relay might not be. Follow the sound to find it if you hear it. Test all sides of the relay with your light. Should get power constant on one term, and the other two should light when the horn button is pushed. Hope this helps. Cheers.

you could have a split vaccume line goin to the actuater switch that operats the 4 wheel drive under neath the battery box.
