Jack up the car and connect a battery booster pack to to the battery terminal on the starter. Positive cable to starter terminal and negative cable to ground on engine block. This will power the door locks so that you can use your key to unlock the door.

Unlock trunk, remove the back panel in the trunk, knock out the metal plate behind the rear seat arm rest. This will give you access to the passanger compartment. You will then need asmall child to go through the openning and pull the hood release. Once the hood is open you can power up at the battery and unlock the door.

Why wont my doors unlock bmw 735i 1992 what part do i need to replace

Wiring issues is what is sounds like. I also own a 1992 735i Mine was because of a bad ground wire. BMW built the locks to be able to "deadbolt" you can only emergency unlock (when you have no power to the doors, or dead battery) on the passenger side. Also make sure you have a new battery. Or a decent one. Bosch or Interstate.

The only door that wont open and lock doesnt work.

Your door is what is known as 'dead locked'. There is a small servo motor which controls each door lock. When these motors go they lock up and make it impossible to open the door.moz-screenshot.jpg Here is the procedure. This is for a rear door but the process is virtually the same for a front door.7d605a5.jpg

Cannot open doors to 1994 bmw 740 il with key. battery is dead and located under rear seat. key will open up trunk.

hi jim, try lifting up on the driver's outside door handle slowly while turning the key in the unlock position. The lock cylinder design has a cam on it that usually will catch while lifting the handle. if you have no luck on the driver's side, try the same thing on the passenger's side. be patient, it make take a few tries before the door unlocks.

Locked out

Connect jumper cables to the starter connection which should be visible under the car, hot to the bolted battery cable connection, negative to any ground. Connect the other end to a battery after you have crawled out from under the car.  Also consider; my BMW had the battery in the trunk, which should open with a key.
