Re: I have a bmw320 the bonnet release handle wont open...
Did you try with 2 people.
one guy pushes down on the hood and then pulls up after the other pulls and holds the release.
Grease the latch every so often to prevent this.

The release handle is at the door edge in the left foot well. If the handle has broken you can sometimes pull the cable with a pair of grips or pliers. If this is not possible find the cable end by looking through the front grill. You should be able to use a large flat blade screwdriver to push the release lever on the actual bonnet latch.
If the handle is broken but the cable is ok use a pair of pliers, otherwise the front plastic grill may need to be forced to give you access to the main catch.
Do you mean bonnet release? If so loosen cable/wire by bonnet catch make sure it's free of any cable ties and clips, and is loose. Also inside vehicle try to remove any type of covering behind bonnet lever/handle, then undo any clips pins or nuts that hold handle in place. If you securely attach some wire or strong string to the end of the cable under the bonnet, and carefully pull it into the vehicle, disconnect old cable attach new, then pull it back into the engine compartment. Your cable should be in place ready for reattaching the lever, and bonnet catch.
Doe`s it click onto the secondary saftey catch? it could be that the cable has stuck, try pushing the bonnet release handle back to it`s original postion (the opposite to how you opened it!) then try shutting it.
CUT BACK THE COVERING ON THE BROKEN RELEASE HANDLE CABLE TO EXPOSE THE INNER CABLE WIRE CORE AND WITH A PAIR OF LOCKING PLIERS LIKE VISE GRIPS PULL ON THAT CABLE WIRE CORE WHILE SOMEONE PUSHES DOWN ON THE HOOD/BONNET OVER THE AREA WHERE THE HOOD LATCH IS LOCATED TO RELEASE THE SPRING TENSION ON THE LATCH
REMOVED PANEL FROM UNDER THE BUMPER AND REACHED UP TO THE TOP OF BONNET AND LOCATED CABLE. PULLED ON CABLE WHILST 3RD PARTY PULLED BONNET LEVER IN DRIVERS FOOTWELL. BONNET RELEASED.
Most of the time the cable snaps at the release handle. If you remove the handle and get the end of the cable, you can cut off the cable jacket and use needle nose pliers or vise grips to grab the cable and pull to release bonnet.
try getting a pair of pliers and gripping the cable on the back off the release and popping the bonnet, if this is no good you may have to go to the dealer to get them to open the bonnet and replace the macanism
