That doesnt sound good. Check the engine oil level and top up as necessary. If the noise is still there, then you should take it to a mechanic to check. It could mean that you need to either replace the engine or overhaul it. Hope that helps

How to fix my steering rack on my 1983 mk1 golf gti

This is a shot in the dark, but its probably your lower steering column bearing, that will make everything wobble, and it happens to almost ALL mk1 vw's at some point. Just google "steering column fix" and you'll have it taken care of.

Your question is vague so that doesn't help. Doubt its the actual rack, as I have an original one in my rabbit with almost 400,000 miles. On top of that I had another rabbit that died around 400,000 with an original steering rack, and I am beating a dead horse by letting you know that my 83 gti has been punished since day 1, and guess what...stock steering rack.

I drive a 2003 VW GTI. Theres a high rev sound after 3rd gear. Sounds like the engine is high reving and gets louder when the car gets faster even when shifting into a higher gear.

It needs rebuilding. The upper gear(s) are not locking in, so your likely wearing out your clutch when you drive fast. Get it rebuilt.

1979 cad fleetwood brougham knocking sound from, engine

Sometimes collapsed lifters or loose rocker arms can cause knocking sounds in an engine. However, the fact that there was a possible loss of oil pressure and that the knocking gets louder as the rpm's increase, would indicate that there is damage to a connecting rod bearing and possibly the crankshaft. If the latter is the case you are looking at a fairly substantial repair bill.

1984 RABBIT GTI FUEL PUMP KICKS ON AND OFF

You had a missing relay before? To operate the pump you'd jump the perpendicular connections. As for the relay running briefly, that sounds like it could be a worn out ignition switch.
