Use a light bulb 12v connect the negative to the chasis of your car, then connect the positive wire of the light bulb to the starter solenoid (small wire from starter relay). The solenoid is like a cylinder where the large battery cable were connected. then it has a small wire from the stater relay. If the light bulb will turn on as you start, then the problem is in the stater motor. it has to be repair, The carbon maybe the problem.

Truck won't start lights etc are on (power) there is a click and the engine light is one 2007 1500

Have the battery and the connections at the battery checked, remove the battery terminals first and clean them then try to start it and if the battery tests good then i would say you have a bad starter. and when replacing the starter check the big cable connection at starter. good day.

Some thing is killing my batterie

The first thing to do is to make sure the battery is good, have it tested and make sure its good and holds a charge, the next thing to make sure the battery is good is to disconnect the negitive battery terminal and let truck sit the amount of time is would take to drain the battery, this is overnite in most cases but im not sure about yours, next after it sits the amount of time then connect battery and it should start, if it doesnt then the battery is no good, also when the battery is tested have the charging system checked to make sure the alternator is charging the battery, after the battery checks out good and the alternator then the next step is to look all over the truck for any light on, like glove box or a light on the rear view mirrror, i will say that this truck is designed to shut down all power left on in side truck after i think 15min, i think you may find a bad battery is the problem but still check for any light on look closely front and rear for any lights. this is where i would start, the next thing would be a draw meter on the battery while you start to disconnect fuses from the box until the draw meter shows no draw anymore then you would see what system the fuse you pulled runs and then check that systems components, but lets start with the batt, and alternator and for any lights left on. hope this is helpful. good luck...

My 1994 Chevrolet C1500 will not start

check the fuseable links, some are at the starter and some may be by alternator and some by the battery, it sounds like they may have over heated and brunt, also a test to do before check links, take a test light and have someone crank the key and hold it. while you check for power at the big and small wires to starter, if it has power at both then the starter is your problem.hope this helps,

2001 jeep grand cherokee won't start. i turn key on and all power comes on inside but wont crank.

Your dealership can read the codes entered into your car's computer every time it malfunctions. Same problem as yours, however, also gets worse, back up lights won't work, sticks in park (in the gas stationing) (very embarrassing), will only run with foot on gas, etc. It was the "neutral safety switch". $500 fix but runs and starts perfectly all the time.

1996 Chevy 1500 will not start...

First thing I'd do is check all ground sources/straps for good clean contact at all points, especially from block or frame to firewall area, then check all fuses in panel at drivers side end of dash or wherever located on your particular vehicle, then check all fuses etc, in power distribution box under the hood, for blown or corroded contacts.

Complete power loss - 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500

It sounds like either alternator or computer, I f you can get it to run on its own pull the positive battery cable off the battery and if it dies its your alternator. And this is no real way to check the computer except going up to a AutoZone and they can check codes for free
