scan for codes first. sounds like a shorting wire. has vehicle been lifted?

The problem may be related to technical service bulletin TSB 03-001-07 which involves replacing the front axle actuator disconnect and a software update. You should be able to Google the TSB and look at the build date listed in the bulletin to determine if it applies to your vehicle.

It has its own relay, replace it and check other relay and fuses affiliated with it. If ones out, it will cause this problem. Relays are in the hood compartment.

You can get the original Dodge dealer service manual from faxonautoliterature. I've used them before and had excellent service. You may also want to consider picking up an aftermarket manual such as Chilton or Haynes because quite often they have shortcuts and remedies to common problems with that vehicle.They can be got at most autoparts stores.
