Re: Trying to put antifreeze in my Cadillac sls yr 95
Coolant reservoir, should have a cap on it that says engine coolant only, or directly in the radiator. why are you adding antifreeze though, is it low?
There is no radiator cap on the radiator is on the passenger side right by the serpentine belt about 16 inches from the radiator. There is no radiator cap on the radiator is on the passenger side right by the serpentine belt about 16 inches from the radiator.

Yes. Mine tends to run in the low two hundreds and will sometimes get to 225 before cooling down. I was told that this was they way they ran due to the aluminum engine. I have no idea whether it is true or not, but what I do know is that I have read countless forums from new owners asking about this, including myself at one point, and all the experienced owners tend to say,"Don't worry about it, this is how they run." If you haven't already search 95 sls temperature. Try this one for starters: http://www.cadillacforum.com/forum/aluminum-block-v8s-49/95-sls-overheating-11076/
Try this, after dark ,open the hood, spray the plug wires with windex,(not just water) start the engine and look for the sparks along the wires,if you see, any replace the wires.chances are it will look like the 4th of july.
just regular antifreeze mixed 50 /50 with water ( distilled water if you are realy picky ) Just make sure the antifreeze is aluminum compatable. ( almost all are these days )
I had same issue. 1994 Cadillac Seville SLS serp diagrams not like my engine. Found that it is the same as 1993 Cadillac STS Northstar! Try that, it worked for me. Good Luck.
theres only two places gm put that pump! under the hood opposite corner from the battery! or lift the car and look at the rear suspension ! ull see it tucked in near the pass side strut!
If its in the engine compartment there is an antifreeze leak..If it inside the car like like near to the windshield, you have a bad heater core. Good Luck contact me if you need more help.
