Poor oil circulation may need either more oil or a new oil pump, any other symptoms?

It could just be the pressure sensor, as this is cheaper get it looked at first.

Hope this helps

Dan

My 2002 chevy trailblazer 4.2 oil pressure keeps dropping to zero at red lights but usually goes back up when i accelerate but sometimes it doesnt

It sounds like you have some internal engine wear. What causes the pressure to drop when you are at a stop is the engine RPM drops. When the RPM drops the oil pump does not turn as fast, when the oil pump doesn't turn as fast there is less oil volume, when there is wear in the bearings and even in the pump itself there is more volume of area that needs oil than there is available causing there to be pressure loss. The only fix for this is to replace the worn parts either by rebuilding your current engine or replacing it with a good salvage or new engine.

2007 Chevy Trailblazer. Oil pressure drops below 0 when started then climbs to the 0 mark but never goes higher. Engine seems to be running fine and no warning lights. Can I drive the vehicle 10 miles

indicates a problem oil pressure sender unit
have the oil pressure checked using a mechanical pressure gauge and if OK then replace the sender unit or gauge

I have been having intermittent problems with my '04 Trailblazer oil pressure gauge. Recently, when I am stopped at a light, or sitting idle, the oil pressure gauge drops to zero. Then, when I get...

It sounds like the oil pressure switch has failed. It is only an on/off switch that trips at about 15 - 17 PSI, the reading displayed on the dash is created by the computer based on the pressure switch being closed and the engine RPM.

Oil pressure gauge drops to zero at idle. Do I have a switch or senzor and where is it?

If your oil pressure is dropping to zero at an idle, then I would quit driving the vehicle. It is very possible that the engine is low on oil. Or that the oil pump is going bad. If you continue to drive the vehicle, you could ruin the engine. There is a oil pressure sending unit that could be bad. But if the oil pressure goes up when it is above an idle, then the sending unit is probably ok.

Dropping oil pressure

You need to put a mechanical gauge on it to read actual oil pressure, sometimes the sensor is wrong, have seen the gauge be off (even on newer than yours). The first thing anyone would do is the mechanical pressure test with a screw in oil pressure gauge. That would be my advise.

2002 chevy trailblazer. 1.oil pressure gauge drops to zero at idle spuraticly 2 where is the sensor that controls the dash guage note: when i unplug the sensor @ the oil filter and the one on the passenger...

the sensor is on the side of the engine block. there's two thing that monitors oil. a pressure switch turns you oil light on and you oil pressure sensor the operates your gauge, start with your sensor. that is near you oil filter that is where it gets it pressure reading from
