Some fords if you slam the trunk lid too hard, it pops the fuel shutoff relay in the trunk area. It is like a circuit breaker you just push the button to reset it. Or you copuld have a sensor under the hood went bad(crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor, mass air flow sensor).
I would start by calling the ford dealership to verify the whereabouts of the fuel shutoff relay, and start there. I had a few late 80's taurus'sand they were on the drivers side in the trunk behind a plastic panel(ford may have relocated them since), and i ran into this problem with them. I learned the hard way, the first time it happened to me I went and bought another taurus and started stripping the first one for parts, when a friend showed me that switch, I pushed it a lo and behold the darn thing started. I was mad and happy at the same time.

Sorry to hear that, I was keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Do you know if you have spark?. You will need an assistant. Pull a spark plug wire off, put a screw driver in there and hold within 1/4 inch of grounded metal and have someone turn the motor over just a couple times and see if it sparks. Use plastic handled screwdriver unless you want zapped.
