I daily read several Subaru Forums. This has never been mentioned. There WAS a recallback in 2000 for 2 gen Outbacks and legacys equipped with 6 cyl. engines for a 'clip' on the cruise control cable to prevent some type of throttle jamming.

If the car had ever been wrecked, perhaps something failed - jamming the throttle?

You should consider reporting the incident to NHTSA anyway.

No there has not been complaint's like with the Toyota's. Toyota is involved with Subaru on a few thing's , But toyota uses Subaru technology not the other way around. And the accelerator style levers are different from Subaru's. Sorry to hear about your accident. Have a great day.

Why is my 2005 subaru forester is hard to start?

Your car is fuel injected, so pushing the accelerator pedal won't actually do anything. That's from back in the days when cars had carburetors and that was the only way to get them started. But I'm wondering if your mechanic is talking about the Air/Fuel Ratio sensor, that will cause a drive-ability concern. Also, you can have your mechanic check to see if your car is equipped with and EGR system, if you have a problem with the EGR valve sticking open it will do exactly what your describing. I hope this info helps!

I have a 2003 Subaru Forester. When the car is off and the key is out, the park lighs remain on. I have checked all fuses and the trailer plug (looking for feedback) with no success. Any ideas?

most likely its your ignition switch ,or it could be your brake relay switch under your brake pedal take it to auto zone and the will check it for free ,if your brake relay switch is not working ,that means it is sticking and it leaves the brake lights on ,but doesnt neccerly mean tha the brakes wont funcktion properly : ) i know it has happen to me before

you need to look at the fuel line (gas lines) to se if the clamps are loose, theyre about half inch diameter, with clamps on the ends of them with phillips head (star shaped) screw driver heads,if youre not sure just check all hoses with a screw clamp for tightness.even get garage attendant to look quickly, dont leave it ....may catch fire if gas hits exhaust!!!!

No, they are wrong. It has nothing to do with the transfer clutches. You have a worn parking pall.
