2001 jeep smells like burnt wire in the cabin

What would cause 2001 Jeep GC to smell like burnt wire in the cabin after hard acceleration. Where should I start looking? Anyone have a similar problem?

After further investgating: The AC Clutch is not kicking on in a/c AND/OR defrost mode.

No other electrical issues but this one. Strongest oder is on the passenger side firewall and blower motor area.

    It's a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD.

That smell may be related to an oil leak burning off on an exhaust manifold or pipe. Since you did not report any electrical malfunctions, I'd check that first. When working the engine harder it gets hotter and you will therefore smell the burning more than when just normally driving. I can't see your vehicle so don't give me a bad rating if I'm wrong, but I'd look there first!

pretty sure there are a couple of relays behind the glovebox on that...(have one in the driveway but not going to pull it apart to look)
Take a look in there and you may find something burnt.

I have a 2005 jeep liberty that has white smoke coming from the exhaust when idling and it smells like burnt firecrackers after driving it when I turn the engine off. Any ideas?

If it is the v8, the most common cause for greyish, white smoke is bad valve stem seals. True white smoke smells very sweet and is caused from coolant being buring in the combustion chamber.

1994 auto trans jeep grand cherokee when the shift on D but the car does not move eargent but it needs much accelerate to move what is the problem

Old and tired transmission. Clutches could be burnt. Does the fluid smell burnt? Could be other things, but most likely it's due for a rebuild.

How many cabin air filters do I need to replace in a 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited?

1 filter. You could also try spraying deodorizer into the cabin air system intake near the hood and windshield from the exterior.

I have a jeep cherokee limited and sometimes when I got to start it, it shakes a little and then I get a burnt smell from the engine

check that the smell is not from the o2sensor wires burning on the exhaust system. This will also give other problem indications.

2002 Dodge Intrepid burnt plastic/wire smell after about 15 minutes

There usually is a vent option for recirculated or cabin air. Have you tried to change what setting it is on , you may need to clear cabin air. I am not familiar with this model , but cars are coming out now with cabin filters, they need to be changed depending on driving conditions ie dusty , dirty conditions need more changing

'94 GC Laredo,5.2L V8 4x4 suddenly "lost" reverse

Check your transmission fluid and make sure it's full. Also check the condition of it. It should be a nice pink/red color, and shouldn't smell burnt.

On occasion dirty transmission fluid can just be changed and the problems will go away, but typically your looking into major tranny repairs if it's burnt.
