My car was running fine, it has just been serviced new brakes and a system flush. Yesterday after coming out of the grocery store I started the car and the steering wheel wouldn't turn and the voltage light came on?

Did you check to see if the belt is still on.It sounds like you lost your belt as long as the engine is still running with these conditions. If the case I do not recomend driving vehicle till it is fixed you may over heat the engine and hurt it.

The fanbelt may have snapped thus the voltage light and the steering being tight.
Check the fanbelt.

run a fault code reader to reset the abs and trac lights as the trac light uses the same sensor as the abs.. IF the pedal is still soft then there is still air in the brake system. You may have to crack the lines at the master cylinder first and bleed there first then start at the longest line and work back to the shortest

1996 toyota celica st202 abs light come on intermitently

While it may be an eletrical issue developing, it may also be internal to the hydraulics of the brake system. If the system was recently flushed, I would look at the wheel sensors first- make sure thery have not picked up debris and sensors are snugly mounted and wiring in good shape.

If the brake system has not been flushed with new fluid, the system should get flushed out next time brakes are serviced. This may mean an expensive repair, but it depands on how comfortable and experienced you are without ABS at all.

If the ABS fails- all that happens is you lose the brake pressure modulation. Fancy word for braking yes- pulsing of the pedal by the system- no. The wheels or a single wheel "might" lock up while hard braking possibly changing handling dynamics of the vehicle..

I've got a 2003 F150 5.4L with 114K. Recently had the 100K service done at about 105K (plugs & boots, fuel system flush, coolent flush, tranny flush). Wife left for grocery store and said truck was...

Code P0155, 1155, will get those code's with vacuum leaks, I have seen that many times here at my repair shop, many times customers come in, after they have done a tune-up, as you have, and same problem, check for vacuum leaks, more so on top of engine to the back, by fire wall.

I need to know what should I take care of 1st with my car. It needs the following; rear shocks battery hold down tran fluid flush brake flush cap rotoe wire need replacement feul systme flush drive blets...

Sounds like you have been talking to a very aggressive sales person!! Assuming the car is running halfway ok, & without seeing the condition of anything the most critical in terms of breakdown are:

  • belts
  • brakes
  • battery hold down
  • cap, rotor, wires, spark plug
  • trans, brake & fuel flush(by the way..no where in your maintenance manual does your car call for flushes of any kind!!) Go by what it says in your book

It wont turn on,

The battery can read 12 or so in volts, but may not have the amps to run it, or the cca to start it, it also has to maintain a certian voltage to run the injectors and coils.

do a check on the battery, any parts store can do this.

sounds like something is shorting the system draning the battery, but it could be the battery itself
