Hood latch I have a 2000 toyota celica. I had a accident last month and the hood latch is broken. Parts for this car is so hard to find in my area. Is there any other hood latch off a diffrent car that may bolt right in and work? i was told that a corolla has the same latch. Does anyone know if thats true? -Thanks

My car hood won't release to open

Greg, the spring in latch release is weak or broken probably or it is still seized and lubricant still has to be worked into it. You can probably get a replacement fairly cheap at auto recyclers.

I cant open the hood of the 2003 toyota corolla..what shall I do . Can someone help me?

Try this. have some one pull the release while you bang on the front edge of the hood, be careful as the metal on the hood is thin and will dent easly. Try to use the heel of your hand right on the edge of the hood in the middle front edge against the bumper. The hood should pop up. When it is open sprayWD40 all over the lock and latch. Let me know if this works.

Broken hood release cable. Can't open hood

this is a hard one it depends on where it broke, can you cut the housing to get to cable core and pull with pleirs, if it snapped at latch then you will need to remove the grill or go from the bottom and try to hit the release the same wat the cable did, sometime if you grab the cable near the latch and pull hard it will open, good luck.

Having trouble opening up the hood of my 1991 toyota celica

Not 100% sure exactly what you mean, but...If it is hard to pull, or the hood doesn't seem to release well, then try some spray lubricant on the latch under the hood, as well as the hinges.

99 toyota corrolla hood latch is broken. Can't

There is a rachet right below the hood that you can reach from radiator grill.
Take a long thin screw driver, reach it and turn that rachet.
You will hear the "click" sound and the hood will pop open.

Hood release cable is broken

Is there any part of the cable inside the cabin that you can pull with a pair of pliers? I suggest that you try that. You may need to disassemble it from the pull handle to make that work.
