Rubbing noise from rear passenger side of an 03 navigator

A couple of weeks ago my wife told me about a rubbing noise from the right rear of her 03 navigator. I first heard the noise and it sounds like a very brief tire rub. It's like two very short rubbing sounds and it stops. It doesn't do it all the time, sometimes it can go for a week and not do it. I took it to the dealership and they can't find anything wrong, brakes are fine and nothing loose underneath. Anyone have an idea of what this may be?

I would guess it is a brake pad that is a little slow releasing sometimes.

In the right rear I get a rubbing noise when making a left turn or during rapid acceleration.

If the tire started coming apart it could have hit the brake dust cover and bent it.

I have a 91 ford explorer 4x4. I have a loud grinding noise coming from passenger side front wheel that started a few days ago. I have been told cv joint by one person, wheel bearing by another and I...

Without hearing it i honestly couldnt say they could all be right and everything is worn out ,have you checked the brake pads for wear in case that is causing the noise like a worn brake disk (rotor) and as the pad wears down the metal on the pad backing is rubbing on the edge of the worn brake disk ?? take the wheel off and have a good look yourself

Passenger side sounds like it is rubbing

There is nothing to grease. Someones playing with your head. There was a tech bulletin out, on the steering squeeking. I would flush the power steering fluid. I have a 2004. Let us know from time to time how it's doing

I would take it back to the place U got it from and tell them U have a CV joint problem and take care of it. I would hope this is covered under warrenty.

These used car dealerships are bad. We have had same issues with getting a used vehicle and it having problems but the dealership takes many times to fix the problem.

Hope this help U

Rubbing/squealing noise in front passenger side wheel well

Repeat the experiment and rotate wheels at same time. Might be just coincidence and it is actually a belt. My guess would be power steering.
