Timing on most modern cars is computer controlled and can't be adjusted manually.Thus, you won't find marks.

the camshaft is the dot on the sprocket there is a small mark behind it on the cover 12 oclock the crank there is a mark on it look to the ten oclock number 1 tdc you will see the mark

Timing marks for 2000 hyundai elantra 2.0 motor

The crank sprocket has a white mark that lines up with a line behind it cast into the oil pump cover. The camshaft sprocket has a marking that says UP with a hole. Use the hole to sight the timing mark on the cam bearing cap behind the sprocket.

How do you change the belts on elantra 2001

ensure timing marks aligned.campulley must be at zero with hole to the top.that hole must line with a slot on the head.bottom sprocket must be turned to the ten two position liningup withslot.fit timing beltin anti clockwise direction,starting at crankshaft sprocket.ensure belt is taut between sprockets.firmly push tensioner agains belt and tighten bolt.turn engine ones around and check marks.apply a load of 2kg to belt and travell should be 4-6mm.re-assemble engine.
