I had a misfire problem with my 2004 mazda 6. mine was the V6 and it was the #5 that was misfiring. i cant imagine what the loss of power feels like if the #1 is misfiring, but i replaced my ignition coil. I cant be too sure what the 4 cyl engine block looks like, but if you have the v6, its gonna take some time to replace because youll have to remove the air intake manifold thing on top of the engine block to get to the #1, #2, #3 pistons.

You need to have the ecm scanned for codes. The VSC and TRAC OFF lights are one just because the Check engine light is on. Once you clear the code in the ecm they will go off too.

try changing the spark plugs first ,then check ignition coils .

The mechanic should use or do this ,"engine lubrication ".cleaning the engine while fixing the engine .If the problems in the multi cylinder, then its the piston and the piston rings. Replace the destroyed or worn out piston rings.then check the crank shaft and the cam shaft for for assurance .then set in timing for ICPE ,icpe is the intake, compression ,power and exhaust.then check and arrange the engine valve.the mechanic should use filler guage for the valve .the misfiring ,check the carburetor or fuel pump throttle.may be its stuck.In High speed auto-diesel mechanic , trouble shooting is what we always encountered while studying .But its not just engine but even car electrical problem.headlights , fuses and other electrical parts of a car.But its seems that the problem of the car is not electrical problem sir , good day sir.

Turn the key from off to on 5 times and the van will display the P codes on the odometer display. Google those codes and you should find the cause of you problem or an indication of where to start anyway. Some codes don't go away until you unplug the battery.
