Observe disposal regulations! - After replenishing with oil, wait at least 3 minutes and then check oil level. - Pull out dipstick, wipe with a clean cloth and push dipstick in again to limit stop. - Pull dipstick out again and read oil level. alt="N01-10183"> For dipstick as illustrated: A - Oil must not be replenished. Should be 6 quarts with a new filter. Best way to do it though is 2 drain the old oil, remove & replace the oil filter, put in 4 or 5 quarts, turn over the engine 2 get new oil in the new filter & then check the level on the oil dipstick and add more oil until it shows full.

With or without a filter? Have you lost the dipstick? Fill it to the full mark, about 6 liters without filter, plus 1 litre to fill the oil filter. Run engine then check levels again. Try not to overfill the sump.

Hi there. 4 qt's for motor.5 for filter.There are 4 ways to fix this. # 1.If your oil filter is in vertical position,remove it with a band tool and drain it or replace it with new filter.Use new oil for gasket and make sure old gasket isn't stuck on motor.Please use 3 ton jack stands to support car on the frame. # 2.Use a box end wrench to loosen oil drain nut and loosen a little at a time until the oil stops dripping and turns in to a stream,close it once in a while and check level.If you don't know how many threads are on the plug best to let it drip. # 3.buy a dip stick oil changer and change oil with a tube down the dipstick tube.This one comes from a marine supply and is a bit pricey at $70.00 + tax but is safer than under the car work.Called a big boy. Drain the crankcase oil into a clean container in which you are able to measure the amount. Replenish this amount up to the quantity stated in your hand book. Remove dipstick and fill the crancase with just this oil. Dip the oil level and using a scriber or a file, mark the dipstick at the level of the oil.
Notes:
1. The quanity of oil is the engine capaity less the oil filter.
2. You may wish to use clean new oil and fit a new filter. If so, use the fill capacity including the oil filter, or add about another pint.

The engine oil capacity of a Daihatsu Sirion, 1000 cc Auto, 1999 is roughly 2.5L assuming the sump was drained and new oil filter installed.
This amount will bring the oil level on the dipstick to the upper line.
As a caution, put in 2L initially, then run the engine for a few moments then switch off. After a few minutes recheck cleaned dipstick level and top up as necessary.

8 quarts including the filter. please make sure you replace it with one from merecedes benz. this needs to be purchased from the dealer as a special tool.

Hi, your engine oil capacity for your 2.8 is 7.8 litres of oil including new filter,when you have done this start car and wait until oil light go's out this will indicate that the oil filter is full with oil,turn off engine and check oil level on dipstick again.
