I bought Nissan Altima 2004 used and found that radio turns on when pressing the volume knob but no sound output is there. I tried using cd as well and it seems like cd is rotating but again no sound is there. Is there any solution as I have already looked at the radio fuse but it is ok. I dont wanna spend on new radio. Please suggest me what to do. Thanks

I didn’t pull the door panel but there are two speakers at the tray behind rear seat. I had pulled the radio and harness is not cut. By any chance can a new harness work there? Lets say if Intrenal amp is out then can we not replace that?

Its possible someone had an amp in there before you bought it. did you pull the a door panel to see if you even have speakers. pull the radio out to make sure the harness has not been cut. if all is well, then the internal amp is out and the only thing to do is purchase a new one. if this is what you have to do, make sure you purchase the harness to go with it. what this does is allow you to splice into the new radios wiring and plug right into your car so you dont have to guess what to hook up. makes it real easy.

the amp is in the radio itself and there are very few places left that actually repiar radios because it is not cost effective. a new harness will not be necessary. you said that nothing is cut or damaged. youre going to need radio. to purchase something to get you by; harness, radio/cd player, and maybe a few **** connectors =$100-125. then when your ready get something you really want.

Sometimes new radios go out, and it is frustrating. But before coming to that conclusion there are a few things to look at. Firstly, there are several fuses that control your radio, and you speaker system. I recommend checking all of the fuses inside and under the hood; this is a prudent measure anyway as a bad fuse can cause problems elsewhere. Once you have checked the fuses and confirmed that all are good, you may have to have your radio reset. Most newer radios have an anti theft system just as does the vehicle itself, and they can be very sensitive. Sometimes just losing power can set them off. If you are able to turn the radio on and adjust the volume (no sound I know, but you can still see the volume bars) and adjust the bass and treble, as well as tune the radio to different stations then it is probably not an anti theft system giving you problems. Still, you may end up going to a dealership or any store that helps with car audio and asking them to check that out. It is highly unlikely that all of your speakers have gone out, so most likely the problem is the radio if it is not a fuse. I do not recommend removing the radio yourself, but if you do decide to, be careful not to break your dash and anything else you have to remove to get to the radio. You can get fairly inexpensive radios at various establishments in almost any city, and they all do work; how well depends on the price. Anyway, if you remove your radio, check and make sure that no wires were disconnected or frayed, or chewed (it happens). Just to recap, I believe the most likely problems are either a bad fuse, anti theft radio, or the radio is simply broken. Good luck, and please respond if you need any further advice or help. I will try my best to help you.

Sorry, but replacing the amp inside the radio would be more expensive than replacing the radio itself, if possible to find someone who would do it. I doubt there is a need to replace the harness, you can drive your car to an audio shop and they can tell you if your speakers are working by testing the resistance in the wires, but the likelyhood of all speaking going out at once is very small, and if the harness had burned or shorted out you would have know it, bad smell. The harness is places where it cannot be pinched, so unless someone put it in a bad place, it should be okay. Please keep commenting if you still need help. I'll be happy to keep helping you fix your problem,

2014 Nissan Altima. How to unmute audio for Bluetooth please?

The 2015 Nissan Altima does not have a mute button for the Audio system. To unmute the Audio system You will have to turn the volume knob clockwise. If this does not fix the problems with the Audio in the vehicle You can try and attempt a full reset of the radio in Your car. To do this You will turn the ignition key to the "on" position and turn Your radio on, wait ten seconds and then turn Your radio off. Depress the radio power button again and wait for reset. Alternatively, enter Your dealer provided radio code to reset. You can also check to see if You had a call and if You did not press the "call hang up" button on the steering wheel while not on a call it could mute the radio so press it again to un mute it.

Radio/Nav is malfunctioning; unresponsive, shuts down/reboots, slow to react to inputs

The only thing that you can do is remove the unit and send it out to a factory approved repair shop, that is it no other choices.

2008 Nissan Altima radio (AM/FM/CD) does not respond to buttons except on/off volume. It was playing an FM station (cant't tune/scan) and now plays a CD that won't eject.

2008 Altima radio-the sound just quit working. Everything else seems to be OK. I can change the radio stations, but no sound. Is there a fuse that could be bad?
