seems like a bad earth on the left rear stop light causing a feedback to the indicator dash light.seems like a bad earth on the left rear stop light causing a feedback to the indicator dash light.

First, make sure there are no leaks in the system. Have a partner to pump brakes about 5 times holding down on the last pump locate the bleeder screw (10mm) on the left front brake caliber. Loosen the screw and fluid and air should be expelled. The brake pedal should go down as partner pushes to the floor have him,her hold until you tighten. Repeat on same screw until just fluid comes out. Repeat same process on left rear, then right rear, then right front. Needs to be in that order.
It sounds like a bad light socket. The brake light and the parking/running/regular part of the socket are shorting out. When you press on the brake petal it's shorting out on the turn signal and sending current to the indicator (arrow) on the dash.. When you use the blinker, it's shorting with the brake light and causing them both to flash...
Check the socket and get back to me with the result.
When this happens the problem is most likely the multi-funtion switch aka turn signal switch. Check to see if the 3rd brakelight comes on when the brake pedal is pushed. If so replace the MFS. The 3rd brakelight in late 80's fords bypasses the turnsignal switch.
this is going to sound nuts but its true.if your brakelight switch is defective that light will flash.
see if you brake lights are working.if it is automatic trans you will notice the shifter will not always release when you depress brake pedal.
if its not brakelight switch get it autoscaned with a VAG.com
