2002 Honda Accord SE alarm won't turn off. We've had this car to Honda, and never can seem to get a solution. It will work correctly or not, we never know, at least it won't be going off. But then one day stick the key in the door and it will start going off. How do you disable it, blow it up or what! HELP!

Hi, this is the factory alarm, isn't it?
Try close the hood, trunk, all doors and lock them.
Then unlock the driver's door using the key in the lock cylinder. This may shut it off.

A work around for when you turn the key to the unlock position and alarm goes off.
Turn the key back to the lock position.
Turn the key back to the unlock position. The alarm should now be disabled.
hope it helps a little

SOURCE: need to replace radiator in 1997 honda accord se. what are the steps?

First drain radiator by opening drain valve,"located on bottom corner usualy the right, but not always." If you open the overflow or remove cap this will happen much faster. For safety sake disconnect ground wire from battery, the radiator is locked down by top cover that attaches to body with generaly 4 bolts, upper and lower hoses have to be disconnected and if it is automatic the transmission cooling lines are connected in stacked fashion,"one above the other."The cooling fan has to be unplugged and it should be removable at this point,"when unplugging fan be carefull with connector so it doesn't break.reverse steps to replace making sure the bolts go in the right place and it all fits properly.the thermostat,"located behind the kneck of upper hose," should be replaced after connecting lower hose because in order to fill the block up and prevent damaging thermostat the block shoud be filled with coolant before attaching upper hose.

SOURCE: 1997 honda accord se need to change vss, where

For 1997 Honda Accord 2.2L MFI 4cyl the Vehicle Speed Sensor - Location is located mounted on transmission.

OPERATION
The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is a magnetic pick-up sensor that sends a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the speedometer. The sensor measures the rotation of the output shaft on the transaxle and sends an AC voltage signal to the PCM that determines the corresponding vehicle speed.

TESTING

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disengage the wiring harness connector from the VSS.
  3. Using a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM), measure the resistance (ohmmeter function) between the sensor terminals. If the resistance is 190-250 ohms, the sensor is okay.
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the three terminal connector from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).
  3. Remove the fasteners that secure the VSS to the transaxle housing assembly.
  4. Remove the VSS.
To install:
  1. Install the VSS.
  2. Install the mounting bolts.
  3. Connect the three terminal connector to the sensor.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
Hope helps (remember rated this).

SOURCE: brake lamp light on a 2002 Honda Accord SE

I assume you mean the one on the dash. This is an indicator that there is a problem in your braking system. Make sure it's not low on Brake fluid and have the brake system checked or check it yourself. If your going to check it yourself I recommend the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle as a reference.

SOURCE: Gear shift stuck in park -- 2002 Honda Accord SE

Take it to the dealer to fix it for a permanent solution, but there is a quick fix when in a bind...

There is a little key space on the left side of Park, take a screwdriver and open that and then take the screwdriver and touch the pad that is about an inch down in that hole, while touching it, you can put the car into any gear.

It is your celluloid that is sticky, which sometimes happens in hot/muggy weather. You may need that replaced.

1997 Honda Accord SE. I Need wiring diagram for it please. I've searched Google and can't seem to find the correct one.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Honda Motorcycles category.

There are Accord wiring diagrams in the link. 'SE' is only a trim level. If you are doing a lot of maintenance, you need a service manual. If you are doing complex electrical work, you need an auto electrician. You fail to say what your issue is, just that you need a wiring diagram. Vehicle electronics are pretty much beyond the comprehension of 'normal' people.

Also the best way to find wiring info is to break it down if you want free wiring diagrams, Google 'year make model (the part) wiring diagram'.

How do I shut off my alarm?

Getting into a car that has the security system by unlocking the door with the key will set the alarm off. Usually you can relock and unlock the door with the key and the alarm will be turned off. There are several things that can set off an alarm depending on the sensors, so do you have a remote key FOB and if so does it work. I am including a link to Honda Tech article that may help you out:

My 97 Honda accord se wont turn over, and car alarm keeps going off

the alarm is the fault refer to your alarm manual to disable it, if you don't know about this unit it is best to seek help from someone qualified and available to look at it for you, it seems as if your alarm is set, most alarms have a starter disable function and the alarm going off is an indication that it is set.

2005 Honda Accord alarm system won't turn off!

It appears to be a known issue!

I would take it to a good vehicle electrician who has a good scan tool computer to test diagnostics on the whole electrical system.

I have a 2002 honda accord when I push on the brake padel my turn signals or my 4 way flashers won't work. When I put on my lights my turn signals or my 4 way flashers won't work. Could you please...

Hi,
First check the fuse in the fuse box for signal light, replace the fuse with similar value if it is busted. If the fuse is still intact the problem would be the flasher relay( small cylindrical aluminum ) that is already malfunctioning.

Hope that helps you out!

Check for a sticker with the radio code inside the glove box. Some dealers fixed a second sticker in the owners manual. If not available, get the code from a Honda dealer, and be prepared to show VIN number, and proof of vehicle ownership.
