Check inside the boot compartment for a removable patch over the tank that allows access to the fuel pump.

No there is not, That is if you are referring to the fuel pump. You have an under hood fuse box in it you will have a fuse that protects the fuel pump circuit, a fuel pump relay, and wiring from there to the fuel pump which is located in the fuel tank. If you are not getting any fuel most likely the fuel pump has failed and will need replaced, Install a new fuel filter as well.

You'll need to disconnect everything to the fuel tank and remove the fuel tank. The pump is mounted going into the top of the fuel tank. Remove the lines and connectors, and remove the lock ring holding the fuel pump in the tank. I have seen some mechanics remove the bed of the truck to remove the pump, either way, each way is a bit involved.

The tank will be dropped and sit in top of the tank.

You need to take the fuel tank off the truck and remove the sending unit/fuel pump from the tank.

the fuel pump is located inthe gas tank, there is no access panel the fuel tank must be dropped to replace the fuel pump module.

no there is not. the only way to access is to drop the gas tank down.

on 2000 malibu,the fuel pump is in the tank it will take you as long as it takes to drop tank! fuel pump is on top of tank,before starting remove fuel pressure by removing fuel pump fuse and run until it quits.it will take approx. 2-3hours to do a decent job. exhaust pipe is not on top it is on the left of the tank.

You have to Drop the Fuel tank for this. It is Mounted on the Top of the Fuel tank. Not an Easy Job.
