Car is humming in the front end, I thought is was one of the front bearings, but those seem fine. The hum gets loader when speed increases, It doesn't matter what gear I am in it does it even in nutral coasting. Is there another bearing or gear that can go bad in between the transmission and drive axles? The transmission is manual and is fairly new. The car has 200,000 miles on it.

If you already replaced the bearings then the only other option is transmission. With 200,000 miles on it anything is possible. Best bet is to have a professional look at it.

End front humming noise

if the humming increases with speed it is probably a wheel bearing

Front end hum/noise

The hum could be being generated by the tires. I would move the rear tires to the front (as they are a different brand) and see if the hum is exactly the same at the same speed.

High speed hum can also be generated from the design of some types of brake rotors but I doubt that is the issue in this case.

From what you have described I would not have thought the problem would be wheel bearings so I am surprised that was the diagnosis before a more careful investigation was carried out. I would have tested the tires first. (I would not have put the old wheel bearings back in either after they had been changed).

2007 hyundai accent humming front end tire

Same with my 07 Accent. bought new in 07, noise started last spring 2013 at 63,000 miles, a year later at 97,000 getting louder but still rolling along, high speeds and pulling a trailer some of the time. Cannot believe a bad bearing would last that long.

I have aloud humming noise from the frontend of my car i thought it was a wheel bearing but it was not any ideas is it the axle

im not sure the type of car or teuck this is but a humming sound from the front end is common with a bad tire or the most common is a wheel bearing, have you checked both wheel bearings? iu have worked on many wheel bearing noises and i will tell you it sounds like its on one side but its on the other side or in the rear, this humming i assume is when its rolling and gets louder with speed, its got to be a tire bearing or in the trany if its front wheel drive.

There is a humming sound coming from the front end of my 1999 oldmobile alero. Only happens when the car is moving. I dont hear itat idle or even when pushing the gas at idle. could it be my transmission...

Hello! If the humming noise is speed related(gets louder as vehicle speed increases)check front wheel bearings. If the noise goes away when turning one way or the other then it will most likely be in the front wheel bearing. If you turn the wheel(while moving)to the right and the noise goes away it is on the right side. If you turn the wheel to the left and the noise goes away its on the left side. Hope this information helps!

The hub bearings are going bad and that is what is causing the humming noise

2006 Volvo S60 AWD rear humming noise

Wheel bearing is the most likely cause. Prob a 1.5-2 hour labor rate job in the shop.
