When the SRS light is On the system has determined that a problem exists and because the system doesn't have the ability to judge how that detected problem will affect the air bags deployment the system shuts down the airbag system. They will not deploy in an accident where a normally functioning system would deploy the bags.

The SRS is a supplemental restraint system meaning that your seat belts are the primary restraint system. We're told that "airbags do save lives"; if that is true then you compromise your safety by not attending to the cause of the SRS light being on.

Good luck and please rate this with a testimonial too.

Cheers.

What my light on SRS turns on?

The SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) light turning on in your 2003 Toyota Matrix indicates that there may be a problem with the airbag system. It is important to have this issue addressed as soon as possible, as the airbags may not deploy properly in the event of an accident.

There are a few different things that could cause the SRS light to turn on. Here are a few things you can try:

Check the connections to the SRS system. Make sure all of the connectors are securely attached and that there are no loose or damaged wires.

Check the SRS control module. If the control module is faulty, it could cause the SRS light to turn on.

Check the airbag sensors. If any of the airbag sensors are faulty, it could cause the SRS light to turn on.

Can't get the SRS light to go off?

SRS means Supplementary Restraint System or as an Air Cushion Restraint System (ACRS), if the light is on, it is most likely a computer response telling you something is wrong. The SRS refers to the deployment of your airbag in
an accident.

Airtrek srs light on

"SRS" stands for: "Supplemental Restraint System". The primary restraint system are the seat belts / shoulder belts. The SRS consists of the air bags that are located in the steering wheel and dashboard that help protect the driver and front passenger(s) in the event of a collision. Additional airbags (often located in the side pillars between front and rear doors) help protect from side impacts may also be present - depending the year and model vehicle you have.

An SRS light that remains on in the instrument cluster indicates that a problem has been detected by the on board computer. It normally should not interfere with the operation of the vehicle, but some or all of the SRS components may not work when needed or may activate unexpectedly - depending the type of problem with the SRS.

Many states that require vehicle safety inspection at regular intervals may fail a vehicle with an SRS issue. Be aware that these systems may be costly to repair. The auto dealer and most modern repair garages have the technology to obtain the SRS problem data that is stored in the on board computer, and should be able to provide you with more information about the nature of the problem and approximate cost of repair.

I hope this helps & good luck!

How to rest srs light

Hi.

If the SRS light is on it means that a problem with the SRS has been detected and an error code has been stored in the relevant computer modules. If there is no fault the SRS light will go off after disconnecting battery terminals for five minutes (make sure you have stereo code if needed). Most of the times the light cannot be reset unless the fault causing the problem is fied (e.g. defective SRS sensor). The best thing to do is a code scanning that will also reset the light, followed with troubleshooting and repair of the problem that is triggering the SRS warning.

Regards.

What does SRS lit up on the dashboard mean. 1995 accord wagon.

the SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System. Most people call it the air bags but the SRS system includes all of the sensors and control units for air bags, seat belt pre-tensioners and passenger detection systems on cars that are equiped with themeach time you start the car up the SRS control unit will do a self-test of the system to make sure all of the sensors are working properly. The SRS light will stay on while that test is conducted. If all is well and everything passes the on-board test the light will go out in about 7 seconds. If something is wrong the light will stay on.whenever a failure is detected for any reason, the SRS light is turned on and the system is shut off. The air bags will not be deployed when the SRS light is on.They call it a Supplemental Restraint System because your seat belts are your primary restraint system.
