Whine from 2005 corolla automatic transmission

I have 05 Corolla with automatic transmission having 45,000 Kms. I hear a whine from transmission in low speeds and also a high pitch whine when I m accelerating at 1800 and 2000 RPM and this noise is really high pitched between 80 to 100 km/h speed. When I remove the foot from paddle the whining noise is gone.

I showed it to the several Toyota dealers and they told me the same thing that it’s usual with every Toyota corolla automatic transmission.

This car is still under warranty with 2 months remaining.

Any good tip from the auto experts?

Have the tranny serviced with fluid change and filter, if noise it still there it is the torque converter . Have the dealer fix it ,and have it on paper with dealer invoice when it is done. Do all this before warranty expires. IT IS NOT USUAL for any car, Toyota included, to have tranny whine!!!!!

My mechanic has found the transmission in my 2007 Toyota corolla ascent seca Hatch(automatic) to be noisy in first gear and also to be noisy when in top gear cruising at 60-70kms. There is a whining n

planetary gears are normally straight cut spur gears and will be noisy in operation. There may be wear in the shafts that they run on and there may be needle bearing wear. Normally you will not hear the noise as you are inside the car. The whine is an indication of a mechanical problem and will be there in all gears . There is a possibility that the noise is from the diff but if you listen carefully when driving if it is there under load but changes on over run(coasting) then it will be the diff of is on and off when you hold a steady speed it will be the diff. Have an accredited transmission specialist shop give you another opinion but if it is the transmission I would not race out right away to have it replaced.

Code P0174 05 Corolla

I don't show any po174 for an 05 corolla. But I do show a po741, if thats the code you're getting.
It means theres a problem with the torque converter
clutch system. It could be the tcc solenoid. Either way, it's related to what you just had done.
Good luck.

Hearing a whining when at slow acceleration? goes away at about 40 kms/hr

This is caused by a wornout differential drive.
Check your differential oil level to minimize the
whinning. To eliminate it, you need to change the
whole differential.

2005 corolla xrs slippage

It could be a case of a worn out clutch pads and lining, There is one adjustment for your clutch it is located under your dash, at the end of your clutch pedals arm and right about where the pedal arm pivots. You adjust it real slow, snall turn makes a big difference. good luck

1996 Corolla Auto Transmission problem

Hi. 2005 Corolla CE. It's normal. They tend to do this when upshifting form 1st to 2nd gear. No timing chain readjustment needed.

96 Corolla. Overdrive not working properly, if not engaging after 45mph constantly. If driving on the city, is normal, but not after 45mph, when the car is trying to engage overdrive in order to save gas and preserve the trans gears. If not able to get help at the dealership, find another one and explain them the situation.
