Why is the ignition wire to my Ignition switch running hot?

You didn't say what color or switch cavity number, My best guess is that the wire your working with goes to the under hood fuse/relay block so unbolt and unsnap it feel the wires it must be a large wire if it hasn't burned yet, if you're looking at a 200 amp set up for anything but the starter you're literally playing with fire, look around the exhaust manifold for wires sticking to it. I really can't be of much help without knowing which wire to help you trace. You can reach my email by using testimonial. Take care
