means there is a fault some were. could also be abs fault not reading one of the wheels moving would set it off. check the sensors are clear on the wheels. no need to jack up just look under and you will see. if there is a lot of rust build up on the cog it can give a false reading and set it off. failing that you would need to have the codes read. but what you are saying it sounds more like a failing sensor not reading.
More likely than not, you have the famous broken solder joint(s) at the coil inside the FOB...if that is fine and all solder joints look fine , then you had best get MB, or a good Mercedes Independant garage, to check the EIS and make sure it sees the key
