Audi A3 2.0 tdi sport(2005 "55") Clutch/1st & reverse gear
I have just brought my audi and am experiancing some problems with 1st and reverse gear.
Sometimes when iam moving the car in first of reverse gear when i try to put the car back into nuetral even though i fully suppress the clutch it still feels like the car is in gear.(the car also creeps forward of backwards even though the clutch is fully suppressed). I have tested and the clutch is NOT slipping and when the car went in for a service the carrage checked all the gear linkage and they are all fine. This only happens very occasionaly!!!! Any thoughts???

Feb 1, 2012 - My Car 58 S3, as of last night decided to start revving whilst on idle, I found a clip ... I can do or is it going to be a trip to audi for them to pull my pants down! ... Lots of members all over the UK have VCDS, have a look at the VCDS .....and as the engine warms up it'll auto-rev to 1000rpm every time i sit at idle.

There are a couple small problems here. First, your question is listed under the heading of "Audi Caras & Trucks". You say it is a Suzuki Vitara with a 2L TDI engine. This is great, but you forgot to mention what year your Suzuki is.
The switch for reversing light is placed on the right side of the gearbox for Audi 1.9 TDI 2003 model 6 speed. Switch: M14 x 1,5 & Part number: 01E941521A. See picture below:
tandard practice to change the oil on a clutch replacement. Was the replacemmiles it's covered, but it's not sounds like the gearbox oil need changing. You don't say how many miles it has done. Gear box oil is not usually changed in a clutch replacement. Did an Audi garage carry out the rlacement? It could be the cable needs adjusting to allow the clutch to have free movement
I would check the fluid level first. If fluid is full you have a mechanical problem and will need to be taken to a reputable trans shop or if you can find a used trans with a warranty it may save you a little. Have a great day
GEAR LINKAGE ADJUSTMENT IS UNDER GAITER PLUS REMOVE ASHTRAY .......BUT I WOULD CHECK FOR WORN OR DAMAGED GEAR LINKAGES ....CLUTCH FAULT WOULD BE THE NEXT THING
