Have someone listen at the gas cap for the fuel pump humm when you first start the motor and keep listening if it stops hummimg. The piump may wok when there is low pressure in line and stop after build up of pressure.
If the hum exist, consider a blocked Catalytic converter. To check this disconnect exhaust infront Cat. and see what happens. Good luck.
Just for the hell of it try the catalytic disconnect first( it will you cost nothing). You will have time, because you are going to buy the pump online ( because it cost way tomuch at the dealer and is a special order at the parts store, who buys it online) Also if you want to try one more thing before spending $300 plus, go to dealer and get replacement electrical plug from car to pump connection( outside of gas tank ,on top of gas tank $20) just splice it in.

his problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

Thank-you, will try tomorrow when I get a ride to where it died. FYI... it will start right up and drive about 100' or so, then shut back down.
Checked for Humm, vehicle started, ran across parking lot 100', then when stopped, idled down and shut off. Waited 2 mins, started, ran in reverse back to parking space. tried to get to idle for humm, would not idle. -- still thinking fuel pump?
