The 4 wheel drive on my 2000 jeep grand cherokee

The 4 wheel drive on my 2000 jeep grand cherokee went out and i can't figure out what caused it and also before it went out everytime i would lose traction i could hear a loud clicking noise coming from i'm guessing the transfer case or differential. i'm guessing that something could be wrong in my transfer case but i took it out and i couldn't find anything. could the viscous coupler be bad and i just can't tell?

The ticking noise is most likely your tranfer case chain. the chains in this case...overtime....will stretch, causing the chain to have enough slack the hit the bottom of the case.

My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee is having a problem where the horn will not stop blaring. The fuse is good, as well as the horn relay.

The problem is caused by the Airbag Module that contains the Horn button contacts is warped from heat, this causes the horn to sound, you must replace the Airbag on the steering wheel to correct this, Refer to disarming instructions for the Airbag, it can be very dangerous as it is an explosive device.

How can i use the 4 x 4 in my 2000 grand cherokee laredo (6 cyl) i dont have the owners manual and i dont know how to use my 4x4 on snow or something like that

With the Jeep in park, move the left shifter to 4 wheel drive. Proceed to put right shifter into drive, proceed to drive. Only use 4wheel drive when neccessary...ie...snow, mud, use 4 wheel lo in steep incline or when really bogged down.

Hope this helps

2000 Jeep grand cherokee 4.0 engine

HI.WELL I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START. FRIST IF IT WAS THE FLYWHEEL IT WOULD DO IT WHEN THERE IS NO STRAIN ON THE MOTOR WHEN DRIVING. THE SAME IF YOU HAD A BAD BEARING. IF I COULD JUST HEAR IT RUNNING, IT COULD BE A BAD OIL PUMP THAT COULD CAUSE IT TO RADDLE UNTIL YOUGET THE OIL BUILT UP ENOUGH TO STOP IT. HOPE THIS HELPS. JIMBO
