I have a 2001 325CI convertable that the windows won't always drop down nor go up when you open and close the door. Sometimes when you close the door you have to reopen in to let the window drop down then shut it again to let the window raise and seal against the top. It's like the car doesn't know when the door is open or shut.

SOURCE: convertible top won't go down on my 1998 bmw 323ic

Sounds like the sensor has faulted or the pump has become disengaged. Usually when the light is flashing it's a sensor. You can check for a pinched line or low fluid also. There is a manual lock overide procedure to get the windows up, it's in you owners manual.
Good luck...i hope this helps,

SOURCE: 2002 BMW 325CI (convertible)power window

My window on my vert was doing that. Short of opening up the door and trying to do it myself, I took it in to the BMW guys at Bimmerhaus. They readjusted the window for me and it was good to go. Pretty much cost 1 hour of labor and a couple of clamps. $100+ or thereabouts.

SOURCE: When I close the door on my e36 325i convertable

Hi,
You have a problem in the window regulator assembly.
Go to a nearest garage and have check the window regulator, sounds like the gear mechanism have been nicked and releasing the window in heavy vibration.
Hope that helps!

When closing the drivers door the window is to drop 1/2 inch. Passenger side does

That is more that one item causing that. You need a good auto-electrician with a scan tool computer or the dealership.

DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW ROLLS DOWN WHEN 2006 DENALI IS STARTED. THEN WON' T ROLL BACK UP.

Got kids? VW electric convertible top - I found dried milk in the switch had same problem on turn on convertible opened and would not close, would have to use manaul bypass foldup. Pull window controller spray with a electrical cleaner then try it. If not dirty the switch is bad. May be in driver door switch or on rear door? Good luck.

I have a vw 2003 beetle convertible, with a problem with the window. It wont drop down to open door...or go up after i close the door. It opens ok with the button otherwise?

That sounds like a door lock problem. The door lock sends a signal to the convienience control unit to activate the window so you can openthe door and raises the window when you close the door.Try another door lock.good luck.

Power window open partially with inside or outside

inside the mechanical lock (The part that actualy holds the door shut when you close it) there is a switch that informs the control unit that the lock is either locked or unlocked.
These switches fail sometimes, when this happens the control unit is not aware that you have opened the door, and therefor will not wind the window down slightly.
The switch is integral with the lock unit, and they are not easy things to replace either.

2007 Beetle convertible, window doesn't drop

Possibly just a relay telling the window to lower slightly has gone bad. If it's only when the top is put up or down, you can either lower the windows yourself (most cost effective since it's not a major inconvenience), take it to a dealer if you are still under warranty, or check to see if there is a sensor or relay that has gone bad, causing this malfunction.

Beetle Convertible window problem

My wife's car is a 2004 convertible. We had the same problem. There is a switch built into the door latch assembly. Whenever you pull either the interior or exterior door handle, the switch lowers the door glass a certain amount.

We replaced the door latch assembly and that corrected the problem.
