1988 dodge 350 van 360 V8 When it is hot(not over heated) several times it would not start and one time it just died in the middle of the street.
When I tried to start it ,it would run when the switch is in the starter position and die in the run position.After the van sets for awhile everything works normal. The thing about it,it is hard to fix something when it is working

Check for melted wires around dis. and ign. module at the fire wall and at the intake manifolds.

Why would my 88 f250 econoline van not switch tanks completely and can the switch be replaced with a manual valve

The fuel pump may be starting to go bad, when you get below half a tank, the pump does not submerge in fuel as much to keep it cool and it will seize up and stall the motor. You will need to replace the pump and check inside the bottom of the tank for small metal bits that almost look like shiny sand.
