If neither tank is working check the selector switch it is responsible for energizing both fuel pumps depending on the selection, if you have power to switch and power leaving switch than either its lost on the way to the fuel pump or the pump is bad in this case both?to confirm you must check for power at the pump, easiest is the front tank.

1986 ford f150 tested fuel pump with cables, pump runs no power when hooked to wires going to tank, is it relay

THIS IS ALL ON MEMORY SO GET YOURSELF A WIRING DIAGRAM FOR THAT TRUCK!!!
If you have one you should install an inline fuel pressure gauge to verify that you are indeed not getting fuel pressure first. Assuming you have no fuel pressure, it could be one of a few things.
check all of you fuses
if ok, check fuel pump relay for activation during engine cranking. I believe in that vintage Ford, the oil pressure switch is responsible for activating the relay. So with a test light backprobe the activation wire at the relay. if you get activation power at the relay, and no relay activation, then yes it is the relay, but if you get nothing, then it will be the oil pressure switch. If you get activation to relay and still no pump activation then you might have a break in the wiring OR the fuel pump has short brushes.

I know thats alot to take in but hey thats what a diy forum is for right? Good luck!!!

Forward fuel tank will not allow truck to start, runs just fine off of rear tank, checked fuses and relays, any suggestions?

It can be in the switch that you move with your finger,or the switch valve under the truck,or the fuel pump in that tank

Looking for a Picture of the fuel system for a 1995 Ford Explorer XLT. To find out where the fuel pump is located for my husband. Truck just stoped running last night and this happened before and the guy...

fuel pump is in gas tank, run scanner for trouble codes, some auto parts stores   will do this for free, check fuses, check for fuel at fuel rail, if not check fuel pump relay, you should here it click when key is first turned on, if not try to bend tabs slightly to make good contact, if no click, replace relay if so turn key off then on listen in tank with cap off for whirling sound if tank, if not could be fuel pump, sorry

I don't here the fuel pump ever kick on in my 1990 Ford F150, and I tested all of the fuses and they are good. I was thinking the relay for the fuel pump might be bad -- any suggestions?

It's under your hood, in one of those boxes, and should be marked. Your pump won't cut in if it's fried either. Check to see if there is power at the pump. Maybe you just have a loose wire. You can always hope!

When I switch from my front fuel tank to my rear tank gas stops

There is no selector valve on a 1995 ford f150 300 engine. The selector switch on the dash sends power to the pump in the selected tank. The pump then sends fuel to the engine. If engine won't run on the selected switch, the pump in that tank needs replaced.

1995 ford f150 fuel pump

Your truck is fuel injected. On the fuel delivery rail in the engine compartment there is a cap you can take off to check for fuel pressure. Hook a mechanical gage to it and check to make sure the fuel pump is working. Also if you have a dash switch to change over to the different tanks check it. Often these switches become bad and the fuel will not flow. The switches are about $ 40.00 dollars. To replace the fuel pumps you must drop the fuel tanks and remove each fuel pump from the tank. The cost for the pumps alone will be about $300.00 to $ 500.00 depending on who you purchase them from. The universals are cheaper, but the Ford pumps are an exact match and you can change them with out any problems.
