You either have a heater core issue or what is real common an all cars is you may have a mold issue on the AC evaporator that is burried in the dash ductwork. If this is the case all manufactures have a cleaning process that requires partial disassembly to allow a spray wond to spray a mold killer into the problem area.

Usualy this problem happens because you keep your AC on automatic mode or you always run you AC and never give you vents time to dry out.

If the smell can be desribed as say a locker room type smell then this will be your problem. If it is a mold issue it can cause health issues if your suseptable,

If the smell is sweet and your loosing coolant then it will be a heater core issue

I have a 1994 Chevy C1500 w/ 4.3 liter and my plugs are fouling out about every 500 miles or less and everything else maintanence wise I've replaced resently. Can someone give an idea on what need

Does the truck run right? Does it smell real gassy, fuel mileage go south? If it is fouling plugs that fast it either has to be burning a lot of fuel or oil. Is there a check engine light on? Engine wore out, burning a lot of oil. Fuel injector stuck, using a lot of gas. Air filter dirty, making it burn way rich. I would think this truck would really smell bad if it is fouling out the plugs that fast.

My 2003 TrailBlazer has a foul smell from the air system. What could be causing this smell? It's a sour smell not a dead animal smell. Is there a cabin air filter? I've read several posts and some say...

you can buy a deoderiser that kills all known airborn nasties, you spray it into the air inlet of any aircon unit, the only smell that it will NOT get rid of is cigarette smoke.that sticks to the filter/condenser and all the vents...nasty.

A foul smell in my 1998 Jetta: fear of inernal leak

it sounds like u might have a heater core leak, did they check that? it only takes a tiny bit of coolant evaporating from the heater core to really smell.

A foul smell in my 1998 Jetta

The heater core could be leaking, possibly a small leak or a cracked pipe to the heater core. I would check around under the passenger side dash, for the smell or any small amounts of anti-freeze.

Changed the 2 cabin air filters but bad odor still comes out vent

If you run your Air cond on recirculate always try using an air sanitizer in your return vent. Or switch your A/C to outside air flow for for half an hour and raise the rear of your sunroof panel to vent the stale air do this till the smell dissipates and then close he sunroof and reset the A/C to recirculate if desired.
