Is there a check engine light on the dash?

A rough idle on this model is often caused by a faulty idle air control (IAC) motor. This would need to be verified by a scan tool which can test the operating range of the IAC.

Towed 2001 audi a4 quatro with a dolley tow truck...the car will not go when put into any gear..the car is a 5 speed

If you only put two wheels on a dolly, even in neutral, you smoked the center diff. Quattro cars must be flatbedded. Gonna have to replace the center differential.

I am about to buy a used 2002 audi a4 5 speed manual with 81000 miles but looking after its problems i m really confused either to buy it or let it go...

If it has a manual trasmisson it may be in need of a clutch and pressure plate so your looking at about $500.00 to $1500.00 in repairs depending on what all you need. They won't be able to tell you all that you need until it is taken apart.

I have an 97 audi a4 1.8t quattro and my back tail light the top one that stays on all the time is not working wat could be the problem

You've either got a bad bulb or the connection that plugs into your light needs to be cleaned of/replaced.

Audi a6 quattro 1.8t It says press clutch pedal to start engine on dash, but its automatic/tiptronic.

The shift needs to be in park or neutral to start. to shift from neutral with the engine running, you have to touch the brakes. Can't explain the label on the dash, unless it has been replaced.

Hi. I have an 03 A4 Quattro, have a problem with an ESP light coming on 5 or 10 mins into a journey. Any idea what the prob might be?

this sounds like a stupid question but is the tread on your tires the same all the way around? on a quattro if the ecm sees different wheel speeds while going down the road it will think your wheels are slipping. or is one of you tires flat or very low? you could also have a bad wheel speed sensor. good luck hope that helps.

The problem is either a bad CV joint or is it possible that the brakes are worn.

1996 Audi A4 Quattro has a noisy rear differential

It's the wheel bearing. Guaranteed. Just replaced mine. Go to Audiworld tech articles for step by step instructions on how to test the wheel bearings. They must have been put in wrong last time or they just went out again.

A4 Transmission shifting

Fist thing to do is change the transmission fluid and filter. Audi says the transmissions have lifetime fluid, but that's bull - change it first and see if that helps. If not, have the car scanned by a shop and have the chassis codes looked into. If there's a true electrical control problem, there should be at least one code stored (which may not trip the check-engine light).
