Knowing the poor quality of this remote I would buy another remote on eBay and that will likely solve the problem. Here is a linkto an eBay auction. Just $17.99 and free shipping.
Gm and Chevy fob can be programmed at home. I have done it my self for a 01 chevy a 03 sunfire. The steps on Step 1 of 5 Get in your Pontiac G6 and make sure all the doors and the trunk are closed.
Step 2 of 5 Put your key in the ignition and hold the "Lock" button on the driver's car door.
Step 3 of 5 Turn the G6 key in your ignition from "On" to "Off" while holding the "Lock" button, and do two more cycles of "On" and "Off" in quick succession.
Step 4 of 5 Release the "Lock" switch on your door and press and hold the "Lock" button on your keyless remote for 10 to 15 seconds.
Step 5 of 5 Remove the key from the ignition of your G6, and test the programming.

Step 3 of 9 Insert and remove the key from the ignition again and close and open the driver's door two more times.
Step 4 of 9 Insert the key into the ignition and close the driver's door.
Step 5 of 9 Cycle the key in the ignition "On" and then "Off" and then remove the key from the ignition.
Step 6 of 9 Wait for the locks to cycle to indicate the beginning of the programming sequence.
Step 7 of 9 Press and hold the unlock and lock buttons on your remote for two seconds and then release.
Step 8 of 9 Press and hold just the lock button on the remote for three seconds and wait for the locks to cycle to indicate successful programming.
Step 9 of 9 Repeat steps seven and eight to program any additional remotes and open the driver's door to end the programming sequence once you are finished. Hope this helps
The first step would be to replace the battery in the remote, if you haven't already. Usually, you pry them open with a screwdriver or a dime.
Does the other remote work OK?
Hi you would have to take your vehicle to a dealer or shop most likely buy a new remote thenit will need to get programed that's were the shop or dealer comes in
in the meantime try LOCKING THE CAR WITHOUT USING THE REMOTE then unlock with the key the horn should not go off
first make sure you have the keyless start entry setup. if u do then you need to lock the door with the transmitter after you lock the door press the start button and hold it down until it starts. It usually takes three or four seconds.
THIS IS THE PROCEDURE, FOLLOW IT EXACTLY OR IT WILL NOT WORK.
Transmitter Programming No Tools Required In the event that a transmitter is lost, program the old and the new transmitters into the memory of the remote control door lock receiver. Up to 4 transmitters may be programmed.
Important Once the keyless entry receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode, the programming of the first transmitter erases all previous transmitter programming information. You must then program all of the transmitters.
Program only 1 vehicle remote control door lock receiver at a time. If you program multiple receivers simultaneously, the same transmitter could possibly be programmed to more than 1 remote control door lock receiver.
Perform the following steps:
Sit in the vehicle driver's seat. (actually it’s much ezr from the front pass seat) Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder. Close all of the vehicle's doors. Remove the MALL PGM fuse from the fuse panel. Refer to Electronic Diagnosis in Body and Chassis. Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the ACC position. Turn the ignition lock cylinder OFF, then back to ACC within 1 second. Open and then close any vehicle door. You will hear a chime when the remote control door lock receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode. If you do not hear a chime, start again at step 1.
Important After 7 seconds, you may hear a chime confirming successful synchronization. After approximately 14 seconds, you will hear a chime confirming successful programming.
Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds. Repeat step 8 in order to program each additional transmitter. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder. Install the MALL PGM fuse back into the fuse panel. Refer to Electrical Diagnosis in Body and Chassis. Validate that all the transmitters that were programmed operate properly. Refer to Keyless Entry System Operation
