It sounds to me, like the pinion bearings are going out, in the rear differential. It makes a whine when accelerate and quits when let up. That a common problem with those trucks.

How to fix whinning noise when car is accelerating, or turning? Is the whinning noise an electrical issue, fuel pump, power related, etc.?

the whining noise is your engines alternator bearings
they are worn out , the alternator is close to failure
it is barely producing any voltage
( the battery light in the dash only indicates that the alternator is no longer generating any amperage )

When i hit the accelerator there's a loud whinning or scretching noise coming from under the hood

hard to tell without actually hearing it..but could be a worn/ stretched serpentine belt, or a tensioner pulley. these vans are know when they get wet from puddles the belt slips off. theres an aftermarket fix for this which includes a double sided serpentine belt. ask your parts store for more information on this fix.

Whinning noise from front of vehicle

check your idler, and tensioner pully's, i've seen a few trailblazers that whine and it turns out to be an idler pully, also check the power steering fluid and make sure its full in accordance with your owners manual

1999 Nissan Altima - Whining Sounds When Accelerating

Well, not sure if the temps have a direct cause for your problem, but you may want to check the CV joints on your axles. If you have ripped a boot, and lost the grease, that could cause a whinning. There are also a few other things it could be as well............any more info?
