I bought a new ignition for my Mitsubishi Eclipse and now it won't start. How can I program it myself if I don't have original keys.

How to Program a Mitsubishi Key Fob
  1. Hold down the lock and unlock button at the same time. The lights will flash three times.
  2. Let go of each button.
  3. Push the unlock button until the light flashes two times. This will sync the car and your Mitsubishi key fob.
  4. Test the key fob to ensure it is functioning as intended.

And for the Security System. Make sure key is in the ignition.

To reset the alarm on the Mitsubishi Eclipse You have two options. You can pop the hood and disconnect the positive battery cable, then leave it off for about 30 minutes. This will make the power in the CPU drain, which will force the system to reset itself the next time it comes on.

I have a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse 2.4l and I recently had to change the crank sensor. Before crank sensor went bad car ran great and was daily driver after I changed crank sensor it runs and drives great...

Buy a new crank sensor from a Mitsubishi dealer. For that sensor always buy OEM parts. More expensive, but 100% reliable.

Any codes? Maybe another sensor has gone bad? MAF?

When lights are on low beam the fog(driving) lights workbut do not work on high beams. Can this be fixed so they work all the time

it is illegal in europe/japan for these foglights to work on anything BUT low beam.as the light spread from these would be defeated if main beam were on in foggy situations.in other words pointless having them switched on.you could always fit accesory spots/driving lights.(like rally cars)but these MUST only come on with high beam.(so you dont blind oncoming traffic.)

Stalls when at idle after changing battery

When you changed the battery the computer must re-learn the setting again. If it continues have a OBD II reader plugged in and check for codes.

Replaced battery on a 1992 Mitsubishi eclipse, still needs jump

THE HIGH LOW IDLE MAY BE A SIGN OF A LOW COOLANT LEVEL.THE IDLE CIRCUIT IS CONTROLED BY ENGINE TEMP.AS FAR AS THE BATTERY.THE STARTER MAY BE DRAWING TO MANY AMPS.THERE MAY BE A DRAIN ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM W/THE KEY OUT.

Car turns slowly but just wont start

Starter turning slowly sounds like:

- bad starter, or
- bad connection to starter, or
- bad connection(s) on starter relay, or
- low charge on battery, and
- and maybe some others... but these are most likely

97 mitsubishi eclipse transmission problems automatic 2.0

I have a 95 Eclipse and I recently had to change out my TCU........ Transmission Control Unit, This should be located directly beneath the center console. First I would have the transmission services if problem persist then proceed to changing out the TCU you can get off of ebay. As far as i know there should be 3 Computers in our cars. 1 the Electronic Control Unit located behind radio 2 Transmission Control Unit located under center console and 3 Airbag Control Unit located under hood, Hope this helps.
