I had an 84 Prelude with a similar problem. I will assume that the car runs just fine as though there is nothing wrong but has the light on. When this happened to me it was just a bad diode in the alternator. If the battery takes a load fine and shows good charge then take off the alternator, take it back to autozone or wherever you bought it and have them test it. I would bet there is a diode bad and they will give you a replacement. Good luck!

yes, we have replaced the alternator and the regulator so far 4 times and traced wires for shortages. No open wires but can not get it fixed.
what is the battery voltage and are the connection clean and free from dirt corrosion and greases like copper ease
