99 plymouth voyager 4cyl. turn key clicks does not start intermittently. Accessories on ok. when it starts sometimes I hear a slower cranking sound but it will start.

Sounds like your starter solenoid is failing.

Your ignition switch is going bad. The strange noise is the starter remaining engaged and locked to the flywheel. Your best bet is to have the starter tested at your local auto parts store, to deduce that it is not, in fact, your starter.

My 1998 grand voyager sometimes will not turn over . if i turn the key and don't hear the fuel pump it will not turn over if i turn the key on and hear the fuel pump it will start


did your car come equipped with prolock? prolock starter kill can become defective and prevent your car from starting. or it can be your ignition switch. I had a defective ignition switch and the van 's fuel pump would turn on but no start...

93 Plymouth Voyager will not start, the Fuel Pump isn't whirring when the key is turned.


You should always hear the pump. Check the electrical connections after you check to fuse.

sounds like the solenoid on the starter is going bad. A new starter will likely fix your problem. This is a pretty common symptom for your vehicle ans a new starter fixes it 99% of the time.

The way to approach this sreies of issues is to first remove the remote start/alarm from the equation and restore the vans electrical system back to original. these cars have a pgmfi relay up under the dash do you hear it click when the key is turned on ? the relay is a double relay where 1 part turns on the computor the other turns on the fuel pump you can try smacking it and it might start the car

check the small connector at starter for voltage when cranking if ok try the hammer test if starts bad starter (ie) tapping starter with hammer while trying to start.
