The idler pulley is the stationary wheel that is connected to the engine accessory beat housing and the Tension pulley which is connected to the serpentine belt tension arm which is common to go bad and will need to be replaced. The serpentine belt tension pulley is the most common to go bad and can be replaced in about 15 min with common tools. Both pulleys can be bought at Auto Zone or Parts Source and they can give you the setp by step instructions to getting the job done. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know your car is running 100% again soon.
Serpintine
Just go to the parts store and ask for the serpentine belt for your make and model. They will ask a few questions like, does it have AC, what size is the engine...ect.
