Renault Clio battery and ABS warning lights

Hello I have a V reg 1.6 automatic Clio. Yesterday, the engine made a scrapping noise when I started it, I went for a bit of a drive and the warning lights for battery, abs, stop and service came on. I managed to get the car home but the battery had virtually run out by the time I got back. I had the alternator belt replaced just a month ago as this came off draining the battery in the process. The new belt is still in place. It is very Icy here and has been for several days but I have been running the car. The only electrical fault that I have noticed is one of the locks doesn't close when I use the central locking on the key. Can someone give me an idea about what may have caused this before I get the car to a mechanic. I would also like to know if it may have been caused by the work the last mechanic did on her. Thanks Tom

Get it checked to make sure that the alternator is charging the battery as it sounds like the alternator is faulty, you can check this yourself using a multimeter you should see around 12.5V to 12.8V with the engine NOT started then start the engine check the voltage it should have gone up to around 13.2V 13.6V this shows that the alternator is charging the batter if its not get it replaced. It could also be a bad battery with the cold weather alot of battery will just die and need replacing you can take it out and get your local car spares to check it for you.

What number is the ABS fuse on a Renault clio authentic year 2002

You have problem eight a speed sensors your master cylinder or wheel cylinders brake lines ECT.
The ABS system works off information it receives from the computer so its the last place to start looking for the problem .
You can go get the thing read but it will cost you money its not like OBD 2 you can't read it with a code reader or even a code scanner .
Start at the other end of the problem its not a fuse for your abs system .

My Renault Clio 2008 model lost power on my way home and no warning light was showing and I stopped the car, after that it refused to start the engine. Does that mean the engine has seized?

does the engine turn over? is your battery fully charged? if the alt. went bad your battery would run the car till it loses its charge then the car would die and not restart, I have seen alt. go bad with no light coming on in the dash

L reg, petrol, 3 door renault clio. n it squeals like a pig.

That is your trust bearing in your clutch assembly, its a cheap part but involves basically a clutch change to sort out, you can either live with it till the clutch fails or depending on how long its been since it was last changed, bite the bullet and get a whole new clutch fitted.

I have a renault clio 52 reg, the engine coolant keeps goin down

i have a clio, had same problem too. its the head gasket. when this breaks or cracks it allows water into parts of the engine it should not, and therefore the water starts to mix with the oil forming this 'light brown gunge' the problem is that when driving with a damaged head gasket you will damage the head of the engine too which is why this is reoccuring. your best bet is to take apart the engine, clean it out, buy a new head gasket and then get the head of your engine skimmed. this could solve the problem depending on how damaged your head is.

Warning lights on dashboard

Try pressing the D3 button on your gear shift - little button below the main one. D3 allows for quick acceleration, but the light also shows when the car is locked is gear ('limp home mode') due to another problem.
